Holy Roman Empire, 1651 (June 15), Oettingen in Swabia, official correspondence of Count Joachim Ernst of Oettingen, folded manuscript letter written at Oettingen and addressed to Lembdingen, the outer panel displaying elegant contemporary chancery-style script with calligraphic flourishes, the reverse preserving a crisp blind-embossed paper seal inscribed "Otingensis S. Joachim Ernesti Comitis" representing Count Joachim Ernst of Oettingen (1612–1659), who ruled the Oettingen-Oettingen line of Franconian-Swabian nobility in the turbulent aftermath of the Thirty Years’ War, the contents regarding government administration, trivial edge marks in places, else remarkably fresh and very fine.

Holy Roman Empire, 1688 (September 2), Burghaslach, Franconia, folded official correspondence with red wax armorial seal, written in chancery-style German with flowing calligraphic script and local officials’ signatures, the address panel showing contemporary manuscript accounting figures and a circular 3 possibly representing a due fee, the reverse retaining a well-preserved red wax seal applied over the wrapper and showing clear armorial detail , Burghaslach at this time forming part of the Franconian Imperial Circle on the important route linking Nuremberg and Würzburg, the letter produced at the outset of the Nine Years’ War (1688–1697) when the Empire entered the Grand Alliance against Louis XIV, a lovely and fresh letter, very fine.

The letter, written by Baron Karl von Schauroth, a Lieutenant Colonel in the service of the King of Bavaria, is a formal instruction to the prominent merchant house of Frederick Huth & Co. to forward an enclosure to "Buenos-Ayres" at the "first occasion." He notes that "already a letter under my address was lost."

Deutsche Marine / Schiffspost / No. 38 (22 Jun) c.d.s. with free strike at lower left, assigned to SMS Gefion of the China Station, pictorial side by H. Sietas & Co. with tinted view of the Chefoo coastline, fine-very fine. Written by crew member "Fritz," the message is an eyewitness naval report from the opening phase of the Rebellion, stating bluntly "we have war" and recording casualties from the Taku Forts bombardment five days earlier, with seven dead aboard SMS Iltis and her commander Captain Lans wounded, his left leg shot off, further noting the Gefion anchored at Chefoo only briefly before returning to the fighting at Taku.

Komp. Leipzig-Mockau,” the handwritten message dated 6 May 1915 and signed “Klein” with a possible second signature, fresh and very fine, with superb quality strikes; mail from Leipzig-Mockau, one of the major German naval Zeppelin bases of the First World War, is quite elusive.

Stolp) cachet with Imperial eagle at centre, the message signed “Otto,” a fresh example with choice strikes. The LZ-88—later redesignated L-25—served as an army reconnaissance airship before transfer to the navy for bombing operations; it remained in service until its crash on 15 September 1917.
