Warsaw to the International Red Cross, Geneva, franked on reverse
with a block of four 50gr Grunwald (Lublin Issue) tied by Warszawa
C c.d.s. (29 Nov), manuscript registration "Warszawa 16 No. 1034,"
with Ankara transit (12 Mar 1945), Egyptian Censorship tape and
circular Dept / 32 censor strikes, and Genève 1 Dis arrival (15 May
1945), very fine and scarce. The cover was mailed from Praga while
the rest of Warsaw remained under German occupation across the

the front lines, the cover travelled through the Soviet Union to
Turkey, then through Egypt, arriving in Geneva one week after the
formal end of the war in Europe, a five-month journey having
traveled "The Long Way Round."
