1944 (May 15), Tientsin to Shanghai, cover from the Consulate of the Italian Social Republic, franked with five Sun Yat-sen definitives with North China overprints (one 18c olive-brown, four 9c green) tied by multiple Tientsin (15 May) c.d.s. strikes, printed Consulate corner card, fine-very fine, an unusual piece dating to the brief period of the Italian Social Republic, and interesting example of Axis-aligned diplomatic postal history during the Japanese occupation.
