1907 (April 19), incoming postal card from Bern to Kampar, Perak, via Penang, 5c postal stationery card, uprated with 5c Numeral, tied by Bern despatch c.d.s., addressed in French to Monsieur Alfred Loquet, ingénieur, “Mines d’étains de Kinta,” in Kampar, Perak State, Malaya, with route directive endorsed “via Brindisi + Penang,” with Penang (9 May) c.d.s., Taiping (9 May) squared circle, and next-day Kampar squared circle receiver, light upper right crease, else a very fine and highly unusual Far East destination.

The Kinta tin-mining district of Perak was then one of the world’s great centres of tin production; mail to interior Malaya, and particularly to Kampar addressed to a named mining engineer, is distinctly uncommon.
